2004年、EUの助成により13名の日本人写真家がヨーロッパ各国を撮影。尾仲浩二はラトビアとスペインを訪れ、これを起点に20年にわたり英国、フランス、ドイツなど各地を旅した。常に彼とともにあったのはカラーフィルムであり、日々約8本を撮影していた。
本展では、最新写真集『Made in Europe』から60点を展示。「尾仲色」と呼ばれる色調の背後には一貫した“写真家の眼”があり、日常の些細な風景の中に、人や動物の気配を静かに織り込んでいる。
In 2004, funded by the EU, 13 Japanese photographers were invited to photograph across 25 member states. Koji Onaka chose Latvia and Spain, marking the beginning of his European journey. Over the following two decades, he continued traveling across the UK, France, Germany, and beyond—always accompanied by color film, shooting around eight rolls a day.
This exhibition presents 60 color works from his latest photobook 《Made in Europe》. Behind his signature “Onaka tones” lies a consistent photographic gaze, capturing overlooked everyday scenes where traces of human or animal presence quietly emerge.

2022年のある日、写真家・荒木経惟は、長年保管していた一箱のポラロイドフィルムを取り出した。そこには、2010年前後にImpossible Projectが再生産した初期のフィルムが収められていた。試験段階だったこれらのフィルムは、当時さまざまな像の不具合を抱えていたが、十数年の時を経て、言葉にしがたい美しさを放ち始める。
本展は、その“忘れられた箱”から選ばれた作品によって構成される。ポラロイドを約24インチに拡大し、異質でありながら印象的な階調を強調。会場には橙色の温かい光を用い、荒木経惟が生涯を通して探求してきたテーマ「愛・生・死」を、これらのイメージの中に浮かび上がらせる。
One day in 2022, photographer Nobuyoshi Araki took out a box of Polaroid film he had kept for many years. Inside were some of the earliest films reproduced around 2010 by Impossible Project. Still in the experimental stage at the time, these films showed various imaging imperfections; however, more than a decade later, they began to reveal an indescribable beauty.
This exhibition is composed of works selected from this “forgotten box.” The Polaroids have been enlarged to approximately 24 inches, emphasizing their unusual yet striking tonal qualities. The gallery is lit with warm orange light, allowing Araki’s enduring themes of “love, life, and death” to emerge vividly within these images.
