2025年7月、東京・Place Mの3階において、「三谷」シリーズの全作品による展示を開催した。

本シリーズは、作者が不在のときに猫の目に映る世界を想像し、家庭という最も身近な場を異なる視点から再構築する試みである。猫の眼差しを媒介として、自己と他者、記憶と不在、親密さと距離のあいだに生じる揺らぎを見つめ直す行為である。

本回の展示では、写真とともに日記を記し、再び一冊の家族アルバムを制作した。写真集の中で軽視されがちな言葉の存在を、テキスト・ポップ的な表現形式として展示空間に立ち上げることを試みた。視覚情報に偏りがちな写真表現に、言語が持つ時間性と記憶の層を重ね合わせることで、新たな読解の契機を提示するものである。

In July 2025, the complete <MITANI> series was exhibited on the third floor of Place M in Tokyo.

This series is an attempt to reconstruct the most familiar sphere of “family” from a different perspective—by imagining the world as seen through the eyes of a cat in the artist’s absence. Through the mediation of the cat’s gaze, the work reexamines the subtle oscillations between self and other, memory and absence, intimacy and distance.

For this exhibition, the artist kept a diary alongside the photographs, creating yet another version of a family album. The work seeks to bring to light the presence of language—often overlooked in photobooks—by transforming it into a form of “text pop” within the exhibition space. By layering the temporality and memory inherent in language onto the visually oriented medium of photography, the exhibition proposes a new way of reading and experiencing the image.
