「M Readers Club」は、写真家である魏子涵とディレクターである李弋迪によって設立され、

東京・新宿にあるギャラリーPlace Mを母体として生まれた、

写真や映像を中心とした展示と交流のための空間です。

 

日々の展示やトークイベントを通じて、

東京と中国、世代や言語の枠を越え、

アジアを往復する新しい表現の回路を探りながら、

芸術という共通の呼吸を分かち合う場をつくっています。

 

また、芸術教室や読書会、上映会などを行い、

一人ひとりの表現が時間をかけて育つための土壌を整えています。

 

「M」という名には、Memory、Moment、Meeting...

そして出会いから生まれる新しい文化の形を模索する願いが込められています。

展示がつながりを生み、出会いが次の表現へと続いていくことを信じて。

 

作品を見て、話して、考える。

その繰り返しの中で生まれる“読む人＝つくる人”のための場所。

「M Readers Club」は、現在、日本東京、中国上海、そして中国無錫の三つの拠点を中心に、

それぞれの場所に息づく時間と風を感じながら、

ゆるやかに循環し続けています。

M Readers Club

was founded by photographer Zihan Wei and director Yidi Li,

and grew out of Place M,

a photography gallery in Tokyo, Japan.

It is a space for exhibition and exchange,

centered on photography and moving images.

 

Through daily exhibitions, talks, and events,

we seek new pathways of expression that travel between Japan and China,

beyond generations, languages, and borders,

creating a place where art can breathe as a shared rhythm.

 

We also host art workshops, readers club, and film screenings,

providing a soil where each person’s expression can slowly take root and grow.

 

The letter “M” stands for Memory, Moment, and Meeting ...

and carries our wish to explore new forms of culture

born from encounters and collaboration.

Each exhibition connects to the next,

each meeting leads to a new form of expression.

 

To see, to speak, to think,

through these repetitions, we become both readers and makers.

Today, M Readers Club moves gently between three bases,

TOKYO Japan, SHANGHAI China, and WUXI China,

each place with its own time, light, and wind,

each part of a quiet, ongoing circulation of creation and exchange.
